Jimmy is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) since 2003 and holds a degree in Marketing (MMII Grad) from the college of Marketing & Design since 1993. He is also a Licentiate of the Institute of Banking (LIB) since 2016.
Jimmy has been working in the Financial Services industry in Ireland since 1986 when he joined EBS Building Society. Whilst there, Jimmy went to college at night for 4 years & in 1993 received his degree in Marketing. He worked in the marketing function in EBS before going on to manage some of their branches.
He then moved to Tusa, an in store bank set up by TSB & Superquinn where he managed 2 of their outlets. Jimmy then joined Bank of Ireland Life as an Insurance and Investment Manager working in 4 of their branches. Jimmy studied for his QFA designation with BoI Life which he attained in 2003.
Jimmy then moved to First Active plc where he held the position of Branch Manager in their O’Connell Street Branch. He then moved from there to join Irish Mortgage Corporation where he became Sales Manager.
In January 2011 Jimmy left IMC in order to work for himself and become self-employed as an Independent Financial Advisor working through Open Financial Services before setting up Total Financial Advice with a business partner in late 2011.
In 2016 he decided to setup a solely owned brokerage – JA Financial.
